JUTE BASKETS

Receiving & stuffing your basket

Upon receiving your J'Jute basket it is important that you open each piece knock out the wrinkles from eco-friendly flat pack shipping and stuff your basket for 2-5 days. It is important that you stuff your basket fully in order for your J'Jute to find its best shape. Due to the soft nature of the jute fibre all J'Jute baskets will sag slightly and this is not considered a fault but, the beauty of Jute Fibre.

Colour Variations

J'Jute baskets will vary slightly in colour from season to season. Colour variations occur due to time if picking and how much rain India has received that season. Although we try our best to match the colours each year we cannot guarantee a match. No two baskets will be the exact same colour. 

Cleaning

Fo​r small marks​​, we recommend spot cleaning with a gentle & mild soap. Do not oversaturate the basket as ​j​ute is not water repellent and excess water can damage the basket fibres and the strength of the entire piece. Jute is prone to mold. Do not wet the baskets.

Shedding

For shedding, we recommend vacuuming the inside of the basket. shedding is not considered a fault.

Fraying

If there is any fraying it is at the customer's discretion if they choose to trim the loose ​fibres. It is very normal for the basket to fray over time with use. Simply snip the little frays away. ​Please, use care as overt​rimming too much can weaken the overall structure of the basket.

RATTAN BASKETS

Care & Maintenance

Rattan Baskets are recommended for Indoor Use. We recommend placing Rattan Baskets it in a covered area, even during mild weather, and bringing it indoors when not in use. Protect your baskets from standing water, wet towels, liquid spills, and prolonged exposure to intense sunlight.

Use a Soft Cloth: Dust the rattan baskets regularly with a soft, dry cloth or a microfibre duster to prevent the buildup of dirt and debris.

Avoid Excess Moisture: Keep the furniture in a dry environment to prevent mold and mildew.

Protect from Sunlight: Place the furniture away from direct sunlight to avoid fading and drying out.

Strength and Durability: While rattan is renowned for its strength and resilience, it is important to remember that J'Jute Rattan Baskets, though crafted with care, are designed with specific uses in mind. These baskets are ideal for stylish storage and gentle use but may not withstand the rigorous demands of active pets or heavy handling. Please Note: J'Jute Rattan Baskets are built to be robust but are best suited for moderate use. For pets or situations that involve more intense activity, the baskets may show signs of wear over time. This is a natural outcome of their use, not a reflection of their quality.
